Tower
A block slides from side to side above the tower. Stop it so it lands on the block below. Whatever hangs past that block is cut off, and the next block is only as wide as what remained. Miss the tower and the run ends.

How to play Tower
The base is already set. A block of the same width slides across above it. Stop the block so it sits on the one below. The part that hangs past is cut off, and the next block is only as wide as the part that landed. The block can run past either side of the tower.
Controls
- Start: Press Start, tap the board, or press Space. The block waits at the side until then.
- Drop: Space, the Drop button, or a tap on the board stops the block.
- Before it arrives: A tap does nothing until the sliding block has reached the tower. After that, a stop that misses the block below ends the run.
- Pause: P or Pause holds the block where it is. Resume, or Space, continues the slide and does not drop the block. Switching away from this tab also pauses.
Scoring and speed
Each block that lands scores 1. The base does not score. A stop within a hair of the block below is level: the width stays the same, and it still scores 1. Relaxed, Classic, and Quick set how fast the block starts. Each landing makes the next block slide a little faster, up to a limit for the pace you chose. Changing speed starts a new run. Your best score stays on this device.
The end of a run
The run ends when you stop the block and it no longer meets the one below. You can let the block slide back and forth for as long as you like. Once it has reached the tower, stopping it after it has slid off counts as a miss.
Tips
- Watch the block below, and stop the sliding one as its edges line up with that block.
- A level stop keeps the full width, so the next pass is no narrower.
- The block turns around at each side. Dropping there is how most runs end.
- Relaxed starts slower, and it speeds up less, if you want more time on each pass.
- Pause leaves the block where it is. Resume does not drop it, so you can look before you stop it.
Playing on a phone or tablet
Tap the board, or the Drop button, to stop the block. Pause and New game stay above the board. The rest of the page still scrolls.
Frequently asked questions
- What is a level stop?
- A stop within a hair of the block below. The width stays the same instead of being cut, and it still scores one point. Anything further off is trimmed to the part that landed.
- Does the block speed up?
- Yes. Each block that lands makes the next one slide a little faster, until it reaches the limit for Relaxed, Classic, or Quick. Changing speed starts a new run.
- When does the run end?
- When you stop the block and it does not meet the one below. A tap before the block has reached the tower does nothing. After it has reached the tower, a stop once it has slid off ends the run.
- Where is my best score kept?
- In this browser, on this device. Clearing site data for Play Solo removes it. Nothing is sent to a server.
- Can I play without a keyboard?
- Yes. Tap the board or the Drop button to stop the block. Pause and New game are buttons above the board.
