Rules and help
How to play FreeCell
Move all cards to four foundation piles (Ace to King, by suit) using four free cells and eight tableau columns.
Tableau
Build down in alternating colors. You may move only one card at a time onto a tableau column, except when you have enough empty free cells and empty columns to move a longer sequence (the game calculates this for you).
Free cells
Each free cell holds one card. Cards in free cells can move to tableau or foundations when legal.
Foundations
Start with Aces; build up by suit to Kings.
Winning
All cards on foundations wins the game.
Scoring (optional)
With scoring on, every card sent to a foundation earns 10 points, and winning quickly with few moves earns a bonus. Each game has a number, so you can replay a favourite or a deal you narrowly lost.
Using this game
Drag a card (or a valid sequence) to its destination, or tap it and then tap where it goes. Double-tap a card to send it to a foundation, or to the first free cell when it cannot go there.
Tips
- Keep free cells open when possible— they are your workspace.
- Clear columns to gain stacking flexibility.
- Do not rush cards to foundations if you still need them to move stacks on the tableau.
Playing on a phone or tablet
Drag cards with your finger, or tap to select and tap to place. Free cells and foundations are large touch targets.
