Dinosaurs Word Search

Dinosaurs Word Search is for the reader who already knows a femur from a fern. The list mixes animal names with the words of a dig: bone, track, amber, museum. It is not a film tie-in. You find each word in a square of letters, in a straight line, and letters may be shared. A new grid opens on this page. Progress stays in this browser, not in an account.

Rules and help

Animal names and the words of a dig. This is not a film tie-in.

How to play

In these puzzles, words may run across, down, or on a diagonal, and they may read forward or backward.

  • Goal. Find every word on the list. Words are straight lines and may share letters.
  • Drag. Press the first or last letter and drag to the other end. The highlight snaps to the nearest straight direction.
  • Tap. Tap the start letter, then the end letter. The same snap applies.
  • A miss. If those letters are not a listed word, the line clears. Nothing is deducted.
  • Found. A match stays marked on the grid, and that word is crossed off the list.
  • The list. Hide word list leaves the found count on screen. That choice applies to every word search and stays in this browser.
  • Another puzzle. New puzzle, Previous, and Next stay on this page. Each grid keeps its own progress here.
  • Print. Printing this page shows the grid and the full word list, without the site header.
  • Done. The puzzle is complete when every word has been found. The banner appears once.

Tips

  • Bone, nest, and egg are short enough to hide inside a longer name. Check every marked letter again.
  • A letter you have already marked can still belong to a second word.
  • Hide the list when you want a harder look. The found count stays either way.

Playing on a phone or tablet

Drag from one end of a word to the other. The page does not scroll while your finger is on the grid. You can also tap the first letter and then the last.
