Halloween Word Search
Halloween Word Search keeps to the old October imagery: the carved squash, the costume, the things that creak. There are no film villains and no costume-shop brands, just the common words of the night. Hunt them in the letter square. Two words may use one letter. A wrong line simply disappears. Another puzzle is a button away, on this same page, and each grid remembers your finds on this device.

Rules and help
The list is the common October night: the squash, the costume, and the creak in the hall.
How to play
In these puzzles, words may run across, down, or on a diagonal, and they may read forward or backward.
- Goal. Find every word on the list. Words are straight lines and may share letters.
- Drag. Press the first or last letter and drag to the other end. The highlight snaps to the nearest straight direction.
- Tap. Tap the start letter, then the end letter. The same snap applies.
- A miss. If those letters are not a listed word, the line clears. Nothing is deducted.
- Found. A match stays marked on the grid, and that word is crossed off the list.
- The list. Hide word list leaves the found count on screen. That choice applies to every word search and stays in this browser.
- Another puzzle. New puzzle, Previous, and Next stay on this page. Each grid keeps its own progress here.
- Print. Printing this page shows the grid and the full word list, without the site header.
- Done. The puzzle is complete when every word has been found. The banner appears once.

Tips
- Costume and creature words share letters such as A and E. One mark can finish two.
- A letter you have already marked can still belong to a second word.
- Hide the list when you want a harder look. The found count stays either way.
Playing on a phone or tablet
Drag from one end of a word to the other. The page does not scroll while your finger is on the grid. You can also tap the first letter and then the last.
